with Xiaoya Gao
This presentation explores the potential benefits of aromatherapy as a complementary approach for supporting students with ADHD and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). By understanding these students' unique sensory, emotional, and cognitive needs, aromatherapy can offer a gentle, natural way to improve focus, reduce anxiety, and foster a calm learning environment. I will share the most recent case studies with ADHD and ASD students, including how essential oils, flower essences, botanical extracts, and hydrosols can influence mood, cognitive function, and sensory experiences.
The session will cover practical guidelines for integrating aromatherapy in classroom and therapeutic settings, safe usage practices, and examples of essential oils that may benefit focus, emotional regulation, and physical activity.
Attendees will gain insights into how aromatherapy can serve as a valuable tool to enhance well-being and support a positive educational experience for students with ADHD and ASD.
